Why horses?
My dream horse Two to Tango challenged everything I thought I knew as a horse expert with the traditional focus on achieving performance.
Instead of sending Tango to a trainer for an attitude adjustment, I began listening closely to what his behavior was communicating. I observed how our nervous systems interacted. I became curious about horses' life experiences from their individual and herd perspectives. Our mutual trust skyrocketed!
Now I can't help but see parallels to human leadership, team engagement, embodiment, and self-compassion. Since I accepted them as my teacher, I've learned as much from horses as I have from decades of design and technical leadership experience at a Fortune 500 company.
